Stephen Myers worked at the American Film Institute before becoming Jonathan Demme's personal assistant on MELVIN AND HOWARD. Stephen assisted veteran comedy editor Bud Molin on several films with legendary director Carl Reiner before co-editing Reiner's FATAL INSTINCT with Molin. He has worked on a wide range of subject matter including comedy, drama, and science-fiction for feature films and cable movies.
Stephen worked with director Leslie Iwerks on the feature documentary THE HAND BEHIND THE MOUSE and the ABC television presentation PIXAR'S 20th ANNIVERARY SPECIAL. In 2007, Stephen completed work on Iwerks' THE PIXAR STORY, a feature film about the most successful production studio in movie history.
Stephen received an A.C.E. Eddie nomination for his work on THE PIXAR STORY for Best Edited Documentary. In 2008, Stephen edited DOWNSTREAM which has been placed on the short list for an Academy Award nomination as Best Short Documentary.
He also edited seven short films by the director contestants on the Steven Spielberg/Fox Television show On The Lot.
Stephen has edited selections of the AFI, Hollywood, South by Southwest, Montreal, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Mill Valley, and Sydney film festivals. He is a member of A.C.E. (American Cinema Editors), Film Independent, and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
